This is my entry into the Don’t Panic Design a Poster competition. The theme was Spirit, so I decided to design a free spirit. A dreamer. The posters are judged by Handsome Frank illustration agency. If you have the time, please click HERE to give my entry some support. I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

I wanted to do a post about some of the recent picture books I have brought. The picture book industry is so exciting right now, and I am enjoying adding to my collection  with some great author/illustrators. Things that strike me most often are the simplicity of the pages, and the end paper designs are often as exciting as the illustrations in the books too (note Jon Klassens I Want My Hat Back).  I hope to add Owen Davy’s Foxly’s Feast and Knight Night to the collection soon. Here are the covers and a few of my favourite spreads from some of them. Enjoy!

Ohh Deer have launched their very first competition called Stuck on Repeat.

5 winners will get their designs made into stylish notebooks. The competition is open to illustrators, graphic designers, photographers even textile designers!

This is your chance to be stocked with some fabulous people on Ohh Deer!

Good luck 😀

My new illustration Tiger Kitty is available to buy in my Society 6 shop and in my Etsy shop. This is part of my portfolio preparation, creating more illustrations that are suitable and aimed at the children’s picture book market.

Yesterday, I brought myself the gorgeous Sony Nex 5, as my small compact just wasn’t cutting it any more. The picture, recently had dramatically fallen. Now, I am not an expert, but I will say that it handles very well. It has weight to it, like a proper metal camera. The lens (which is interchangeable) is brilliant. The picture quality is amazing! It was so worth it, and buying it now gives me a week, to get used to it before I take it on holiday. Above are just a few quick shots of some flowers in the garden, and a little shot of my cat, Scruffy, with her tongue out. She has no front teeth, so this is a regular look for her 😀

In other news, a pair of beautiful cushion covers, designed by Anke Weckmann arrived in the post today. I brought these from Envelop, and am so impressed with the quality! As a designer and seller on there, it’s nice to become a customer for once. These are part of the Lavender club collection, which you can buy HERE

This amazing piece of work, was a little collaboration between myself, and flyHerofly (aka Liam Smith). It seems an age away when he asked me to do some drawings with the intention that he would add his own style to them. I didn’t do everything on here, and much of the credit must go to him. I drew the tepees, deer, mountains, and sun, but the fun dancing Indians, totem, canoe, and trees, and the wonderful colour scheme is all down to Liam.
Great work!! Check out the flyHerofly website HERE.

I was commissioned the other month by Cellardoor Magazine, to create a festival style poster for the article ‘The Summer Festival Survival Guide’. I also created some spot illustrations to go within the article depicting items associated with festivals. You may recognise the spots, as I did put them into a fun repeat shortly after-woods. Have a read of the magazine HERE.

Thursday the 1st September saw the Crafty Fox team back at the Dogstar in Brixton, for an evening of stalls, making, DJ’s and drinking. It was a great night and my second time having a stall at the event. It’s definitely the most social market I have been involved in. It took a day to recover from, though, as I had to carry all the things back on the tube to West London.
You can see my new cushion in the picture, which is now available to buy up on my Etsy shop here:
Have a great weekend!
