I have recently been working on a personal project illustrating Greek God’s. For the first time I am working in a greyscale which I find so appealing lately, and I wanted to share some details of what I have done so far.

I wanted to give you all an update on my work at the moment. It’s been a great month so far with new freelance opportunities at Tigerprint about to begin as well as some fun commissions! I have also launched a collection with Timbergram, which was launched at Pulse recently. You can read about that here.

Below are some work in progress pictures of my current projects including a poem called ‘The History of the Woodpecker Verdicchio’ and a world map.

I hope you like them.

Last Tuesday 30th April saw the opening of the Inkygoodness Beermat Character show with Ammo magazine and the Poop Deck project. I was lucky enough to have a couple of illustrations on show at the Coningsby Gallery, Tottenham St, London, where I also attended a very pack PV last week to launch the event. The show consisted of one half of the gallery showcasing the Beermat Characters with artists including Sandra Deickmann, Joanne Hawker and many more. The other half showed the work of 54 prints by artists and illustrators. The prints formed a pack of nautical themed playing cards which were available to buy on the night and are available HERE too.

The show is now closed, but many of the framed beermats are now on sale on the Inkygoodness shop HERE.

Here a some photos of the event and some images of my work.

I love books, and for 3 years I worked as a book seller part time. Becoming an illustrator heightened my love, and it is my sole purpose to one day design book covers for publishing houses and see them in print and in store. In the mean time, I make do with creating my own responses to already published classic tales, and here are some that I have already completed for my portfolio. I hope you enjoy.

P.S. If you are a commissioning AD or editor for a publishing house and like what you see, feel free to contact me HERE.

I was lucky enough to be recently interviewed by Computer Arts Magazine for their ‘My Design Life’ section in Issue 211.

If you haven’t managed to pick up a copy yet, then here are some pictures of the one I picked up. You can see me in my rather chaotic looking studio!

I am currently busy working away on a personal piece of work to create an animal alphabet poster. Using a fairly limited colour palette  I have also given myself a vague deadline of mid February to finish. In the meantime look out for little looks at the animals as I go along. Also, fee free to suggest any animals particularly low down in the alphabet. I like your suggestions!

I just wanted to take some time to wish you all a Happy New Year! 2012 was a great year for me professionally, with some great clients under my belt, and lots of new industry friends and contacts made. I want 2013 to be bigger and better both personally and professionally. Maybe get my wish at doing a book cover or two, and also take part in an exhibition…. Unlike last year though, I am not going to make a huge list of things to achieve, but just let it all happen and see where the year takes me. A holiday would be nice though!

I am currently working on my very first animal alphabet, which I hope to turn into a HUUUGE poster next year, as well as a series of new greetings cards. My first is the anteater, which has been sitting in an old sketchbook for a good long while. It’s nice to have finally done something with it. I will try and update you as the alphabet progresses, but for now, enjoy this little guy.
